You could feel the anticipation in the room long before Melissa walked on stage. A night of songs and stories. We already know this is going to be a night we will all remember.
Between stories about Kenny Loggins, Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, and the winding roads behind some of her best-known songs like “Midnight Blue” and “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” and many more, Melissa moved through the evening with ease. She knows how to move through her songs and connect with every single person. She knows exactly who she is, and that’s refreshing.
Melissa, present in every moment
Melissa also has a way of holding the room between songs. A story lands, a song follows, and it all feels connected without effort. Her songs carry the same weight they always have, maybe even more today, shaped by time and a voice that has matured. It’s more about telling the story inside the songs. That’s enough.
The room listens. We all listen.
