Congratulations to Melissa Manchester on turning 75. She continues to create, perform, and explore new projects with the same energy and curiosity as ever. This year includes concert appearances across the U.S., new music and composition work, and the return of her one-woman show Fifty Threads after its successful New York debut.
February highlights
On February 6, Melissa appears at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles at the Society of Composers and Lyricists awards gala. She will perform “I’ll Never Say Goodbye” in tribute to composer Alan Bergman.
Later in the month, on February 19, she joins Jim Caruso’s Cast Party at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert as the evening’s special guest, performing two songs including “Whenever I Call You Friend.”
New classical works
In the past year, Melissa premiered her first classical composition, Awake! – A Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. Her second piece, The Suite By and By, and By, for flute, clarinet, and bassoon, debuted in Beverly Hills in January.
Fifty Threads on tour
After a sold-out run at 54 Below in New York, Fifty Threads: An Artist’s Journey returns this spring.
South Florida dates:
March 20 – Boynton Beach, FL
March 21 – Delray Beach, FL
March 22 – Port St. Lucie, FL
From April 29 to May 4, the show travels through the Northeast, followed by an encore engagement at 54 Below in New York from May 6–9.
On the road and at sea
From March 25–28, Melissa performs on the ’70s Rock & Romance Cruise, sharing the lineup with artists including America, Don Felder, Lou Gramm, Ambrosia, and the Marshall Tucker Band.
In the studio
Melissa has recently completed recording Audacity, a duet album with Ann Hampton Callaway, backed by the DIVA Jazz Orchestra. Release details will be shared soon.
